Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

September 30 to November 13, 2011

Tasty treats, refreshing beverages, celebrity chef demonstrations and rock star performances, there’s something to satisfy every taste and interest.

I absolutely love being able to sample food from around the world at the booths during Food & Wine. They have smaller taste size portions at each booth usually from $3-7 which allows you to taste a bunch of different fun foods! Some are amazing and the ones that aren’t …well it’s a small portion! It’s fun and it’s not a huge strain on your pocketbook to indulge in just one. Problem is, you really do want to try every place around the world so it usually adds up to around $100 (If your not drinking).

In my opinion it’s a good idea to get the festival themed mini gift card! Fits right on your wrist & you don’t have to worry about pulling out your wallet.

These can be found in a little booth near the American Pavilion. You can’t miss it just follow your nose! They start at $6 and go up as you choose your toppings. You can get powdered sugar, chocolate, ice cream ect.  We usually stick with just the powdered sugar but next time I may get daring and go for the chocolate! We weren’t expecting them when they marched up…

You can’t help but be moved by this uniformed group. They perform with surprising precision. It’s like history comes alive! They perform at different times throughout the day, so be sure to check the Times Guide at Epcot to know exactly when you can catch it.

Step in time with a marvelous colonial marching band corp. A patriotic musical performace from the heart of American heritage. Yankee Doodle Dandy, God Bless American and many more are played out in time to the marching steps of brave men.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros

We had a chance to visit Epcot today! Whoo Hooo

We went on the Gran Fiesta Tour starring the three caballeros. It is a very slow boat ride. It is a little dark but very cute! My kids loved it!

After boarding the boats, guests float around the Mayan pyramid in the back of the pavilion’s main room. Soon, guests enter a tunnel on the side of the pyramid, where Panchito Pistoles and José Carioca of The Three Caballeros introduce themselves, only to find out that Donald Duck, the third member of the group, has run off, prompting Panchito and José to set off on a frantic search for their missing friend. The next few scenes show Donald touring Mexico and José and Panchito on a magic sarape (a sort of Mexican flying poncho) looking for him.

The next scene has characters similar to ‘It’s a Small World’ with dancing animatronics but at a much slower pace.

The attraction combines traditional animation superimposed over live-action film clips shot in such stunning locales as Acapulco, Chichen Itza, Manzanillo and Mexico City. These vibrant sights, accompanied by lively music, showcase the people, culture, history and arts of Mexico.
