Why Stay at a Disney Resort Hotel? WHY NOT! You might as well get the FULL Disney Magic Experience!

So yes, I am an on site snob….I really think that you cannot enjoy all that Disney has to offer if you are off site!

I do have resort preferences but that’s for another post!

-Extra Magic Hours – Each day, one of the parks offers extended hours, so you can enjoy select attractions (valid park admission and Resort ID required).

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the newest value resort within Walt Disney World.

It is located where construction on the unfinished half of Disney’s Pop Century Resort was started, but later abandoned for obvious reasons after the September 11 attacks.

This is a HUGE resort so if you want to explore get ready to do some walking! There are 1,120 family suites all themed around the Disney animated classics Finding NemoCars, and The Lion King and 864 standard guest rooms themed Little Mermaid.

The entire resort is very bright and colorful and the kids will love it!

These are the separate sections….

Finding Nemo Family Suites—

Cars Family Suites—

The Lion King Family Suites—

The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms

..and as always and as expected the themeing is Fantastic!

Disney’s Yacht Club

Posted in DISNEY RESORT REVIEWS with tags on October 7, 2012 by disneychronicles

So I have a new favorite! Well in the Deluxe Category anyway. Yes, Of Course I have my fav in each one. I couldn’t honestly just pick one!

So it’s the Yacht Club! Just stayed there this past weekend and they did spoil us with a boardwalk view! It was awesome!

I am one of those people that really dislikes staying in hotel rooms for the fact that I always think I’m missing out on something. I am usually out and about seeing what activities the resorts offer so as you can imagine this was fantastic!

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a lakeside Disney Deluxe Resort resembling a New England yacht club.  The rooms are beautiful and have great theming.

It first opened on November 5, 1990, it is one of several Epcot Area Resorts. Disney’s Yacht Club is located next to a sister resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and across Crescent Lake from Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. All 3 are very close and in walkable distance to each other.

It was a little bit cloudy when we were there but still beautiful….

and very convenient to restaurants, shops and the parks! Can’t wait to come back!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was designed by architect Peter Dominick, who is also known for the Fort Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It opened on April 16, 2001.
Animal Kingdom Lodge has a massive mud fireplace, huge carved wood pillars, and giant showcase window facing the savanna. In the lobby are fascinating artifacts. It is beautiful! and as always the theming is fabulous!!

(Book the savanna rooms).
Among the animals you may see are Ankole Cattle, Bontebok, Eland, Zebra, Greater Kudu, Impala, Okapi, Red River Hog, Nyala, Reticulated Giraffe, Roan Antelope, Sable Antelope, Thompson’s Gazelle, Waterbuck, White-Bearded Wildebeest, Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Blue Crane, East African Crowned Crane, Greater Flamingo, Marabou Stork, Ostrich, Pink-Backed Pelican, Spur Winged Geese, Guinea Fowl and Ruppel’s Griffon Vulture!

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

Posted in DISNEY RESORT REVIEWS, FLORIDA ADVENTURES with tags on June 2, 2012 by disneychronicles

We stayed a night at the Walt Disney Dolphin before we visited Hollywood Studios for Star Wars weekends.

The surrounding grounds of the Dolphin are lush with vegetation and plant life. There is a small body of water with a white sand beach between the Dolphin and Swan that adds to the tropical theming. Crescent Lake is located to the left of the Dolphin and provides easy access by boat to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The fountain between the hotel and the boat landing is beautiful, especially at night. The fountain is several stories high and water flows from giant seashells into the fountain, which is supported by giant dolphins. The pyramid shaped tower provides an outstanding backdrop.

There is plenty of room to relax with 5 swimming pools, the Balinese-themed Mandara Spa, whirlpools and saunas. Guests also enjoy a wide range of recreation facilities including 2 health clubs, 4 tennis courts, jogging trails, a white sand beach, Swan paddle boat rentals and seasonal poolside activities. It is located just about 5 minutes from the Boardwalk and across the street from mini golf  at Fantasia Gardens.

You do also get Disney Perks such as Extra Magic Hours in theme parks, complimentary transportation, on-site character dining, and advance tee times on championship golf courses.
