Posted in DISNEY DINING, DISNEY'S EPCOT with tags , on September 17, 2011 by disneychronicles

I admit…It doesn’t take much to get me to the parks. Not much convincing is needed, no arm twisting and no begging! this past weekend all it took was “Hey Mom” lets go to Epcot and get a Funnel Cake?! hmmmmmm well ok! why not!

These can be found in a little booth near the American Pavilion. You can’t miss it just follow your nose! They start at $6 and go up as you choose your toppings. You can get powdered sugar, chocolate, ice cream ect.  We usually stick with just the powdered sugar but next time I may get daring and go for the chocolate! The deep fried ice cream is also on my list! Hey life is SHORT! and these are a MUST do!

Plaza Restaurant

Really I never even knew this restaurant was here! LOL We decided last minute to go to Magic Kingdom and it was one of the 2 restaurants that had the time available that worked with our schedule.

We had advance dining reservations and you do need them.  We were seated fairly quickly, however, once in the restaurant everything seemed to move at a slower pace. This restaurant sits on the right at the end of Main Street USA when you’re facing the castle. They don’t have a large menu, but good choices. Great kids menu too.  I had the Tuna Salad sandwich and my husband had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, both were good but basic. Nothing that was a must have but a good option while in the park. You also have a great view of the castle from almost any seat! Price wise not bad either so I would recommend it!

Chef Mickey’s Dining Experience!

Posted in DISNEY DINING with tags on July 30, 2011 by disneychronicles

In a nutshell….the food was good, but not great. There didn’t seem to be many options. I have done the breakfast before and actually enjoyed that more. But the food is not why one would come here! The reason to go is for the characters one could easily meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. The food here is buffet style. There are 2 different ones – an adult & a child sized buffet. The kid’s buffet was at the height of a child so they could dish up their own plates. It also had all their favorites – mac n cheese, pizza, hot dogs, and nuggets. The dessert bar was the hit of the meal. Ice cream, brownies, cookies, cakes ect..

The meal itself is a little pricey. The Dinner for 4 is approximately $150. But, if you are going for the whole Disney experience, it is definitely worth it.

O’Hana Polynesian Restaurant

Posted in DISNEY DINING on July 25, 2011 by disneychronicles

One of my Favorite restaurants at one of my Fav Resorts!

O’hana restaurant in Disney’s Polynesian Resort offers a dinner menu with selections influenced by Polynesian cuisine and a Character Dining breakfast. Both meals are served family style, which makes sense since in the Hawaiian culture ‘ohana means family.

The dinner menu includes grilled meats from long skewers, churrascaria style! Asian Barbequed Pork Loin Skewers, Oak Grilled Turkey Skewers, Marinated Sirloin Steak Skewer, and unpeeled, Marinated Shrimp. Side dishes include stir-fried vegetables, fried dumplings, lo mein noodles and a salad starter. Dessert is a wonderful caramel bread pudding.
