Holiday Inn Resort-Buena Vista

This is a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel.

 

 

What is that you ask?

They are hotels which are located near Disney World that have passed a test of high standards approved by Disney World.

All Disney Good Neighbor hotels offer free shuttle service to Disney World. In fact, this is one of the criteria to become a Disney Good Neighbor hotel. The hotels also have to be close to Disney World.
They are required to have excellent customer service and the customer service agents must have great knowledge of Disney World to assist guests with any questions they might have.  Since most Disney World Good Neighbor hotels are not located on Disney World property, you should find their rates to be quite attractive.
If a hotel has the Disney Good Neighbor hotels logo outside then you can expect the hotel to be nice…at least to match the standards at one of Disney’s Value Properties.

We stayed a night at the Holiday Inn Resort and were pleasantly surprised. It is very clean and has a great pool area. There is also an arcade and a room that shows movies! It is situated in the heart of Lake Buena Vista and just one mile from the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks.
That being said I can see where it would be possibly more budget friendly to book one of the Good Neighbor Hotels but they do lack the “Disney nostalgia” and I really do recommend checking the Disney Value Resorts for rates first.

Look inside Royal Guest Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside

I am liking these…..especially the fireworks 🙂

Each room is fit for royalty. Magnificent touches and magical surprises, including custom drapes and linens, ornately decorated beds— and headboards that glitter with fiber optic lights, creating your own personal “fireworks” display.

Love the sinks! How creative!

Disney’s Old Key West

Disney’s Old Key West Resort is located near Epcot theme park, Disney’s Board Walk Area and the Downtown Disney Area. This is a peaceful resort in the middle of hectic Walt Disney World. The tropical “old Florida” feel really puts you at ease.  Set among the Lake Buena Vista golf course this resort has a laid back feel with lakes, fountains, beautiful landscaping and is a great place to relax after a hectic day at the parks.

The pool is terrific, it has a water slide in the shape of a Sand castle and is fun for the whole family.  It has 4 heated pools, a ping-pong table, foosball table and tennis courts.  They also offer free DVD and game rentals,  the game center has places to sign up for kids and teenagers to do arts, crafts and daytime activities.  In terms of Dining there are 2 snack stops and  Olivia’s Café, a casual restaurant serving up Florida seafood and American cuisine with a Caribbean twist.  I have eaten here twice and have found the food to be rather bland.

 

The Resort’s Guest rooms include studio, one-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom Villas.  Keep in mind the larger villas are further from the main buildings.  Overall it is a great resort and I would highly recommend it!
