Plaza Restaurant

Posted in DISNEY DINING, DISNEY'S MAGIC KINGDOM with tags on August 31, 2011 by disneychronicles

Really I never even knew this restaurant was here! LOL We decided last minute to go to Magic Kingdom and it was one of the 2 restaurants that had the time available that worked with our schedule.

We had advance dining reservations and you do need them.  We were seated fairly quickly, however, once in the restaurant everything seemed to move at a slower pace. This restaurant sits on the right at the end of Main Street USA when you’re facing the castle. They don’t have a large menu, but good choices. Great kids menu too.  I had the Tuna Salad sandwich and my husband had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, both were good but basic. Nothing that was a must have but a good option while in the park. You also have a great view of the castle from almost any seat! Price wise not bad either so I would recommend it!

Birthday Celebrations at DISNEY!

Posted in EVERYTHING DISNEY with tags on August 30, 2011 by disneychronicles

There are so many ways to celebrate your special day at Disney I don’t even know where to begin! First you always want to let them know when you check into your hotel.  They usually do ask if you are celebrating any special occasions.

Tell the server about the Birthday at all meals on this day. They will bring a decorated cupcake to the table (sit down dining only) with a candle in it.

If you’re in the Park celebrating a special occasion and would like everyone to know what you’re celebrating, stop by the Vacation Planning Booths to pick up a complimentary Celebration button and wear it proudly throughout the day.

Capture every magical moment at Walt Disney World Resort in a distinctive Walt Disney World scrapbook. The birthday scrapbook kit can be purchased at various Disney Resort merchandise locations.

And we can’t forget  the “It’s My Birthday Ear Hat.” The festive colors say, I am celebrating! The special ear hat can be found at The Chapeau at Magic Kingdom Park as well as other merchandise locations throughout the resort.

Imagine your surprise when you discover that Mickey Mouse and the Gang knew about your special birthday celebration and left your resort room full of personalized gifts! From In Room Celebrations to pirate trunks and princess proclamations, they have everything you need to make this birthday one to remember. Let a Disney Florist Dream Maker create a magical birthday celebration personalized just for you or your loved ones.  These are some of a long list of celebration options! It’s easy to make it a day you will never forget! Hey it is the HAPPIEST place on Earth!

Seaworld-Orlando

Posted in FLORIDA ADVENTURES with tags on August 28, 2011 by disneychronicles

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Seaworld. Well lets me honest more like 15 years or so! For us this was a park that we did in 1 day and I think that was enough time. Whether it’s because it’s stuffed with marine biologists who are interested in talking about their subject I don’t know but it is a relaxing and informative place to visit.  I didn’t have the feeling that I needed to rush. Which was a great change of pace!  Many of the activities are  hands on you actually touch the dolphins and stingrays and even feed them. The rides range from small for the little ones to the Manta roller coaster for the more adventurous! So there is something for everyone!

This is one of the first theme parks to open in Orlando, SeaWorld has been operating here for more than 30 years. The 200 acres of attractions and animal shows make this a perennial favorite with Florida visitors. Many new attractions and rides have been added to the original fun including a laser-fireworks-water extravaganza and high-tech thrill rides.

It is a good break from the faster paced parks.

Pin Trading….do YOU do it?!

Posted in EVERYTHING DISNEY with tags on August 26, 2011 by disneychronicles

My boys are hooked on this!!!

Disney pin trading is the buying and trading of collectible pins and related items featuring Disney characters, attractions, icons, events and other elements.

Pins have always been present at Disney parks, but it wasn’t until 1999 as part of the Millennium Celebration  that Disney Pin Trading at the Walt Disney World Resort was introduced. The next year, the craze spread to the Disneyland Resort, which has become the home of most Pin Trading events. Since then, Pin Trading has spread to Disneyland Resort Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Lines with each location creating their own pins and traditions. Although the trading of pins has been suspended in Tokyo Disney Resort, pins are still offered as prizes at carnival games, and a relatively small amount of pins are available.

Featured Artist and Jumbo Pins cost between $20 and $35 and Super Jumbo pins cost upwards of, and sometimes beyond, $75. Each guest may purchase up to two pins of each style per day. Pins are frequently released at special events, movie premiers, pin trading events or to commemorate the opening day of a new attraction. Some pins have appreciated well on the secondary market and have reached prices of over US$500 at venues such as eBay. Most Disney pins are enamel or enamel cloisonné with a metal base.

Pin Trading Guidelines….yup! These are important!
