This nightly event is free of charge, and includes entertainment, a chance to meet Chip and Dale, and even a Disney movie!

YES! I said FREE!

This is a great event for all ages! Especially for little ones!  The atmosphere is relaxed and not as hectic as the character dining or the character meets at the parks. Chip and Dale walk around and take pictures with everyone.

A cast member starts it off with a sing-along, followed by a marshmallow roast and a visit from Chip and Dale. The night ends with a movie! You can bring your own marshmallows or they do sell them along with other snacks and drinks.

It starts around 7pm in the fall and winter seasons, and 8 pm in the spring and summer and is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area of the campground.  In the event of rain, the sing-along is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

To get exact times and the movie listings  you can call the Fort Wilderness Campground.   Or, if you are staying at Fort Wilderness Campground, the times and movie listings will be posted at all of the comfort stations.

To get there , You can take a bus from your resort to the nearest Disney theme park, water park, or Downtown Disney.  Then catch the bus there to the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  You can also take a boat from the Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park.

The campground has its own internal bus system. You need to take the Yellow Loop bus to the camp loop 1500 Bus Stop. This is the stop for the “Meadow Trading Post” Recreation Area.   Across the street from the bus stop, you’ll see a wooden foot bridge and a sign for the Campfire.

Take I-4 to Exit 64B.  Take the right guest lane to the Magic Kingdom theme park and tell the gate guard that you are going to Fort Wilderness. Follow the signs to the campground. You will have to present photo ID at the gate. You will park at the “outpost”. You need to take the Yellow Loop bus to the camp loop 1500 Bus Stop.

The Sea Hagg

Just before crossing the Cortez Bridge leading to the Gulf of Mexico, there’s a little shop that I drive past frequently.  I always said to myself ..

I must stop there! so finally yesterday I did.

If you love anything nautical you will walk through here in pure amazement! I cannot really describe it as just a shop,  they call themselves is a chandlery and I think it is a perfect fit!
What exactly is the official definition of a chandlery?

A chandlery was a store that sold nautical parts, gear, and other commodities to sea-bound vessels. The chandlery came into prominence in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, when ships were the preferred method of transportation for the lucrative industries of cargo shipping, fishing, and whaling among other areas. The chandlery in its simplest form acted as a storeroom for hoarding supplies of wax and tallow candles, soaps, oils, paints, ropes, as well as other things that sea-bound sailors would need to aid them in their journeys.
Now take that and add nautical jewelry, art, garden decorations including buoys, mermaids , fishnets, nautical instruments and so much more….
Check it out for yourself!
